Kerem Akturkoglu missed a 90th-minute penalty as Wales secured a hard-earned 0-0 draw away against Turkey in League B Group 4 of the UEFA Nations League.

The hosts enjoyed the better of a closely fought first half, controlling possession while taking 12 shots on goal.

However, the best chance of the opening 45 minutes fell to Harry Wilson, who hit the post in stoppage time.

Wales continued to frustrate their Group 4 rivals after the break.

Enes Unal had a great opportunity to put his side ahead in the 70th minute, but he fired wide from just a few yards out.

Akturkoglu could have won it in the 90th minute after Turkey were awarded a controversial penalty. However, he fired wide from the spot, and Wales held on to secure a 0-0 draw.

Orri Oskarsson’s goal helped Iceland to a 2-0 win against Montenegro in the group’s other game.

The Real Sociedad forward fired the ball into the back of the net after being found in the box by Mikael Ellertsson.

Isak Bergmann Johannesson added a second with two minutes remaining to wrap up the win.

Elsewhere, Georges Mikautadze’s goal helped Georgia snatch a 1-1 draw against Ukraine in League B Group 1.

Ukraine were 1-0 up at half-time after Solomon Kvirkvelia’s own goal gave the visitors the lead in the seventh minute.

However, Mikautadze equalised for Georgia with 14 minutes remaining to rescue a point for his side.

Virgiliu Postolachi’s late goal saw Moldova to a 1-0 win against Andorra in League D Group 2, while Azerbaijan’s clash with Estonia at the Ganja City Stadium in League C Group 1 finished goalless.
