John Bass, the U.S. Under Secretary of State, is scheduled to travel to Ankara, Türkiye, on April 15-16 for a series of meetings with senior Turkish government officials.

During his visit, Under Secretary Bass aims to build on the progress made during the successful March 7-8 meeting of the U.S.-Türkiye Strategic Mechanism in Washington, which was led by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The discussions will focus on continuing cooperation between the two countries on various bilateral and global issues, including the conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, developments in Ukraine, and preparations for the NATO Summit in Washington scheduled for this summer.

In addition to diplomatic matters, Under Secretary Bass will also explore opportunities to enhance trade and investment ties between the United States and Türkiye, with the aim of benefiting the citizens of both nations.

The visit underscores the ongoing efforts to strengthen the longstanding partnership between the United States and Türkiye across a range of strategic and economic fronts. (ILKHA)
