Türkiye’s exports to African nations surged to $15.1 billion between January and October 2024, according to foreign trade data reported.

This figure represents a 1.8% increase compared to the same period in 2023, as per data compiled by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM). Exports to Africa now account for 7% of Türkiye’s total exports, making the continent the sixth-largest market for Turkish goods.

Türkiye’s growing trade relationship with Africa is complemented by its expanding role in construction and energy projects, positioning the country as a key partner in the continent’s development and investment.

Bilateral ties between Ankara and African nations have strengthened significantly, with Türkiye now hosting embassies in 44 African countries, a remarkable increase from just 12 in 2003.

In comparison, Türkiye exported $79.9 billion to European Union countries and $23.3 billion to Middle Eastern nations during the first ten months of the year.
