Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech on Thursday at the debut of “1 Million Jobs Project” at Beştepe Nation’s Convention and Culture Center in Ankara
“We are closely following the technological developments to ensure sustainable growth in our country’s economy, and are supporting works in this direction,” Erdoğan said.
“We now support 100 jobs of the future”
“Many highly-trained employees are needed in projects of programming high-tech products and developing software with high added-value. Surely, we are working to increase the number of our graduates, trained in this field at our schools and universities. We are aware that many of today’s professions will be replaced due to rapidly-changing technology,” Erdoğan said.
Recalling that the administration recently announced their determination to establish 100 thousand technology enterprises by 2030 with the National Technology Entrepreneurship Strategy, Erdoğan said: “We have increased the number of the jobs of the future, we support, from 25 to 100.”
Erdoğan highlighted investment, employment, production, exports, and current account surplus as the 5 fundamental pillars of growth.
5 ministries support the project
Pointing to the project to train 1 million software developers, launched in 2020, Erdoğan said: “Since its launch, 1,096,566 people have been trained through this program, which exceeded our goal. Due to the immense interest in the project, we have decided to continue the project and double the number of trainings in the system next year. 5 of our ministries support in their respective fields the project to train 1 million software developers, originally launched within the Ministry of Treasury And Finance.” (ILKHA)
