Türkiye’s producer price index of agricultural products (agriculture-PPI), which uses 2020 as its base year, increased by 32.1% annually in August 2024 but recorded a month-on-month decrease of 1.56%.
According to the latest data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the agriculture-PPI also showed a 17.92% increase compared to December of the previous year and a 55.84% rise on a 12-month moving average basis.

Sector-specific changes
In terms of sectoral performance, agricultural products, hunting, and related services recorded a 1.75% decline from the previous month. Forestry and logging products, along with related services, experienced a significant 5.46% drop.
In contrast, fish and other fishing products, aquaculture, and support services to fishing increased by 9.39% over the same period.
Monthly shifts by main groups
Looking at changes by main agricultural groups, non-perennial crops dropped by 9.31%, marking one of the sharpest declines for the month. Meanwhile, perennial crops saw an increase of 6.03%, and live animals and animal products rose slightly by 0.19%.
Notable subgroup changes
Oleaginous fruits stood out as the subgroup with the highest annual rate of change, soaring by 150.15%. On a monthly basis, tropical and subtropical fruits recorded the most significant growth, rising by 110.43% in August.
