Starting in 2025, Türkiye has implemented a substantial increase in traffic fines, with penalties rising by 43.93% to reflect the revaluation rate determined by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

Fines for everyday violations
Common infractions such as illegal parking, improper lane changes, or failing to follow passenger drop-off rules will cost drivers ₺993. Other violations, including neglecting to wear seat belts, helmets, or protective eyewear, fall under this category.
Misusing emergency lanes will incur a fine of ₺9,267 ($28.07) while parking in spaces reserved for people with disabilities will result in a ₺1,986 ($56.15) penalty.
Overloading and hazardous transport
In 2025, Türkiye traffic fines for overloading vehicles have been significantly raised. Drivers exceeding weight limits face fines ranging from ₺8,463 ($239.26) to ₺51,026, ($1,442.57) depending on the severity of the violation. Those carrying hazardous materials without a permit will be fined ₺4,198 ($118.68).
