In a bid to further boost the country’s economy, Türkiye has launched the Tech Visa Program that grants accelerated work permits for more than three years to internationals seeking to establish start-up ventures in this country.
During the launching of this program, Industry and Technology Minister, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, said the initiative aims to attract foreigners with exceptional technological expertise as well as pioneering business models grounded in innovation, VisaGuide.World reports.
Türkiye has been working on the implementation of this program for over two years now.
By offering participants a special three-year work permit, we expedite their process of living and working in Türkiye, enabling them to envision long-term prospects and to embed themselves in the local fabric, making them feel truly at home.
As part of the new program, the Ministry will give entrepreneurs six months of consultancy services across legal and financial dimensions for the enterprises established in Türkiye.
Türkiye Aims Nurture 100,000 Tech-Driven Start-Ups by 2030
In addition, Minister Kacır said that by 2030, Türkiye aspires to nurture 100,000 tech-driven start-ups, at least a hundred of which will be worth over $1 billion, according to Hurriyet Daily.
The Industry and Technology Minister said that to realize the country’s vision, it is imperative that Türkiye be transformed into an epicenter of global attraction. According to him, the country is in the process of establishing the world’s most significant technopark at the airport of Istanbul.
Kacır said that with the future activation of Terminal Istanbul, the city and the country will further solidify their status as a global nexus for tech entrepreneurship.
In this regard, Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Işıkhan emphasized the dual objectives of the Tech Visa program.
While we attract new ventures and talent to our country, we simultaneously leverage their knowledge and experience to enhance the capacity of our local workforce and add value to our innovation ecosystem.
Işıkhan said that the Ministry’s goal is to foster an investment environment that is more innovative, robust and competitive through initiatives that, according to him, are designed to abolish barriers while promoting technological entrepreneurship.
As part of efforts to attract foreign nationals, authorities in Türkiye launched the Digital Nomad Visa program, which permits foreigners to temporarily live in this country legally while working for companies or clients located outside the country.
