The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has renewed its sponsorship agreement with Turkish Airlines (THY), aiming to fly to the 2026 World Cup in style.

TFF President Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu expressed the federation’s determination to elevate Turkish football’s global standing, drawing inspiration from the national airline.

“Just as THY is our national pride, so too is our national team the pride of the Turkish people. Our mission is to bring Turkish football to where it truly belongs,” Haciosmanoglu said during the press conference at THY’s VIP conference hall.

Turkish national team’s road to 2026

After their stellar performance in the UEFA European Championship, where they secured a spot among the top eight teams, the Turkish national team is now setting its sights on the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Their ultimate goal is to once again compete in the prestigious tournament, marking their first appearance since 2002.

With their strong start in the Nations League, where four World Cup spots are up for grabs, the Turkish team currently leads their group and is showing unwavering determination.

National team to fly Turkish Airlines for all matches

In a strategic move, the Türkiye Football Federation and Turkish Airlines have extended their longstanding partnership.

As the airline with the most extensive international network, THY will provide travel for the national team’s matches during the upcoming season, reinforcing its role as the nation’s leading global ambassador.

‘Turkish Airlines sets example for us’

During the signing ceremony, TFF President Haciosmanoglu praised Turkish Airlines for its global success, stating: “Our aim is to enhance the brand value of Turkish football and we take Turkish Airlines as our example in this mission. We hope Turkish Airlines continues to rise and one day becomes the top airline in the world.”

Shared goals: Uniting, serving nation

Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, professor Dr. Ahmet Bolat, emphasized the alignment between TFF’s and Turkish Airlines’ missions.

“Both the TFF and Turkish Airlines share the same goals: to serve our nation, make our people proud, and unite them through our efforts. We are delighted to continue supporting 16 sports federations, including the TFF, into the 2024-2025 season,” Bolat stated.

Special requests for 2026 World Cup

As the 2026 World Cup approaches, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, Haciosmanoglu noted TFF has made specific requests to Turkish Airlines for the long journey ahead.

The federation’s ambition is clear: to represent Türkiye at the World Cup and to bring the nation’s football team to new heights.

This renewed partnership between TFF and Turkish Airlines not only strengthens their collaboration but also highlights their shared commitment to elevating Türkiye’s status in both football and aviation on the global stage.
