SZOMBATHELY (Hungary) – Türkiye have re-established their presence on the big stage as they qualified for FIBA EuroBasket 2025 after missing out on the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 and the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2024.

The proud basketball nation has bounced back in fine fashion with the team being built with a strong core of leaders who have then been pushed to the next level by their superstars.

Türkiye secured their ticket after a perfect November 2024 window of FIBA EuroBasket 2024 Qualifiers, beating Hungary twice – 92-66 at home and then 81-76 on the road for a 3-1 record in Group B.

Quotes

“In this window, our goal was to win these two games and get qualification to EuroBasket. So congratulations to my players … Now our goal will be to finish the group in first place. We have two more difficult games – against Italy in Istanbul and against Iceland in Reykjavik. But we will keep going because our biggest goal is – with a full roster – to take a medal and win the EuroBasket 2025.” – Türkiye head coach Ergin Ataman

“We succeeded in our goal before the game, which was to go to EuroBasket. And we deserve this after the last two games.” – Türkiye guard Yigit Arslan
