An Essex-based premium turkey firm has welcomed the third generation of its founding family into the business.

Ella Kelly has joined Kelly Turkeys, bringing four years of experience working in London in consumer insights and brand strategy.

The 27-year-old becomes the second member of the third generation of the Kelly family to work in the Danbury-based business, following her brother Toby who joined three years ago.

Ella graduated at the University of York in environment, economics and ecology and then worked for consumer insights and consultancy firms including Ipsos, serving a variety of sectors from retail and fast-moving consumer goods to healthcare and luxury products.

Now in a retail strategy and sales position with Kelly Turkeys, she said she welcomes “the challenge of seasonality” – building consumer interest through the year in a brand associated with premium Christmas turkeys for 50 years, and now introducing value-added products.

She also has an impressive charitable CV, having raised more than £9,200 for a leukaemia research charity by competing in the London Marathon during her student days.
