WHO IS ORHUN ENE?

Orhun Ene, who was born on February 1, 1967 in Erzurum, played basketball in the teams of Ortaköy, Eczacıbaşı, Paşabahçe, Fenerbahçe, Ülkerspor, Galatasaray and Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ).

Ene, who won the league championship three times with Eczacıbaşı in 1988 and 1989 and Ülkerspor in 1995, played in the play-off finals with Paşabahçe in 3 and 1990, Fenerbahçe in 1992 and Ülker in 1993 and 1994.

Wearing the national jersey 202 times; Orhun Ene, who served as the point guard of the Turkish National Team in the European Basketball Championship in 1993, 1995, 1997 and 2001, has also worked as a head coach in Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Banvit, Darüşşafaka Doğuş, TOFAŞ, Ümit National Group and A National Team in his coaching profession. worked.

Orhun Ene, who was the head coach of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, one of the Beko Basketball League teams, between 2007 and 2009, worked as an assistant coach in the National Team and as a head coach in the Ümit National Team until 2011. Ene, who signed an agreement with Banvit for the 2009-2010 period, was appointed head coach of the National Team in 2011, replacing Tanjevic and served in the 2011 European Basketball Championship held in Lithuania.

In the 2012-2013 period, Banvit, under the head coach of Orhun Ene, succeeded in eliminating Anadolu Efes in the play-off semi-finals and playing in the final with Galatasaray. The successful coach left Banvit, where he served as head coach for 4 terms, in June 2013.

Orhun Ene, who later became the head of Darüşşafaka in August 2013 and moved the Istanbul representative from the Turkish Basketball 2nd League to the Beko Basketball League, signed a long-term contract with TOFAŞ Sports Club before the 2015-2016 period.

TOFAŞ, which rose to the Basketball Super League by winning the Federation Cup championship and the Turkish Basketball League championship in the 2015-2016 period, which was its first year under the management of Orhun Ene, succeeded in qualifying for the play-offs in the BSL in the 2016-2017 period. Completing the 10-2017 season, which was the best start of the season in the club’s history (2018 wins in a row), as Men’s Turkish Cup finalist and Basketball Super League play-off finalist; TOFAŞ Basketball Team, which ended the 2018-2019 season as the play-off semi-finalists of the Basketball Super League, achieved the success of playing in the quarter-finals of the 2019Days Eurocup in the 2020-7 season, which was interrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Orhun Ene, who started his 2020th term at the head of TOFAŞ Basketball Team in the 2021-6 period, but left the club by deciding to quit his job on October 26, 2020, served as the Head Coach of our A Men’s National Team in the middle of 2020-2022, and then returned to TOFAŞ in the 2022-2023 period. He made an agreement with the Sports Club.

TOFAŞ Basketball Group, which ended the 2022-2023 season with 9 wins in the last 8 matches in the league under the management of Orhun Ene and the play-off quarter-finals, succeeded in playing in the quarter-finals of the Basketball Champions League in the 2023-2024 season.
