Turkish teacher Firdevs Gülben Pekmezoğlu suffering from Lupus disease was transferred to Ankara with the initiative of Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer when she wanted to continue her treatment in Türkiye.

41 year old Firdevs Gülben Pekmezoğlu who was working as a Turkish teacher in Germany and hospitalized in intensive care unit due to lupus disease was brought to Ankara with the initiative of Minister Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer when she wanted to continue her treatment in Türkiye.  

 

Turkish teacher Pekmezoğlu was assigned as Education Attaché in the Turkish Consulate in Munich by the Joint Culture Commission after serving as a Turkish teacher in a state school in Ceyhan district of Adana for three years. She suddenly feel sick and was hospitalized last week.

 

Family of the teacher who was taken to intensive care in a conscious state applied to the Turkish consulate in Munich for her transfer to Türkiye but her doctors did not allow her transfer by ambulance plane due to life threat.

 

On the third day of her treatment, she regained her consciousness and officials from the consulate visited her.

 

Doctors approved her wish to continue her treatment in Türkiye. During this period, Minister Özer consulted with doctors about her health and travel permit.

 

As a result of the efforts of Minister Özer, an ambulance plane belonging to the Ministry of Health flew to Nurnberg Airport of Germany and carried the teacher to Ankara Esenboğa Airport. Her treatment continues at the Health Science University Gülhane Teaching and Research Hospital.
