Taiwanese steel giant YC Inox launches $80 million plant in Türkiye – Türkiye Today

YC Inox Co., one of the world’s top five producers of specialty steel, officially commenced steel tube production at its newly established $80 million facility in Türkiye.

According to business-focused dunya.com, located in the Dilovasi Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, Kocaeli, the plant spans 53,000 square meters and employs over 400 workers.

The factory’s initial annual production capacity is set at 20,000 tons, with plans to exceed 30,000 tons in the coming years.

The Taiwanese company has ambitious plans for Türkiye, intending to establish three facilities dedicated to producing stainless steel-based pipes, profiles, sheets, plates, coils, flat bars, and angles.

By leveraging its operations in Türkiye, YC Inox aims to position the country as a strategic manufacturing and distribution hub for markets across Europe, Asia and Africa.

Established in 1973 under the name Yeun Chyang Industrial Company, YC Inox has been listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange since 2009.

Türkiye’s steel production has shown robust growth, with November 2024 figures revealing an output of 3 million tons.

According to data from the Turkish Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD), crude steel production increased by 11.2% year-on-year in the January-November 2024 period, reaching 33.9 million tons.

During November alone, Türkiye exported $709 million worth of steel products while importing $1.2 billion.
