Galatasaray have officially prohibited supporters from wearing
the iconic mask of star player Victor Osimhen during
matches.

Osimhen has made an impressive start to his Galatasaray career
since joining on a season-long loan from Napoli, quickly winning
the admiration of the club’s supporters. His iconic face mask has
become a popular sight at the stadium on match days.

However, the club have announced in a statement that fans are
prohibited from wearing the mask in the stadium, citing safety
concerns and the need to comply with sports regulations.

Galatasaray’s official statement on
Osimhen mask policy

In a recent post on their official Instagram
page
, Galatasaray addressed the growing popularity of Victor
Osimhen’s iconic mask at the club’s store while highlighting the
importance of safety during match days.

The club issued the following important reminder: “Victor
Osimhen’s iconic mask continues to attract great interest at
GSStore. We would like to thank you for the intense interest in our
mask and remind you of an important note for a safe match
experience.

“As per sports regulations, we would like to inform you that
masks cannot be taken into the stadium on match days. We kindly
request that you adhere to this rule for compliance with stadium
regulations. We wish you enjoyable and safe match days!”

The Nigeria
international’s face mask gained significant popularity among
Galatasaray fans following his debut, during which a collision with
Çaykur Rizespor player
Khusniddin Alikulov
resulted in a concussion for Alikulov, with
rumours suggesting he may have suffered a facial fracture.


Currently sidelined due to an injury
sustained during
Galatasaray’s match against Kasımpaşa, Osimhen had made four
appearances for the Turkish champions prior to his injury. In that
time, he scored two goals, provided three assists, and averaged 76
minutes per game.
