A rocket attack carried out by militants from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) struck the city of Al-Bab in eastern Aleppo on Sunday, leaving one person dead and injuring more than ten others, an Al Mayadeen correspondent in Syria reports.

Al-Bab is under the control of the so-called “National Army,” a Turkish-backed faction.

The attack has heightened tensions in northern Syria, with “National Army” militants responding by imposing restrictions in nearby cities under their control.

Authorities announced a ban on gatherings in Azaz and Afrin, fearing potential shelling by SDF forces.

Both cities are located in the northern countryside of Aleppo, which has seen periodic clashes between rival factions.

Clashes in Eastern Syria

The attack on al-Bab follows recent escalations in Deir Ezzor, where violent clashes broke out on November 7 between Arab tribal forces and SDF fighters near the al-Mayadeen Corniche.

The area, situated along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, has become a flashpoint for confrontations involving Syrian state forces, tribal forces, and the SDF.

A field source at the time reported that SDF fighters targeted the Al-Mayadeen Corniche, an area housing Syrian state institutions on the western bank of the river.

As violence escalates, local residents remain caught in the crossfire, with civilian casualties and displacement becoming an increasingly frequent occurrence.

Meanwhile, Arab tribes persist in their efforts to reclaim territories under US occupation.
