PROTOCOL FOR COOPERATION IN TEACHER AND ADMINISTRATOR TRAINING PROGRAMS
The Ministry of National Education signed a “Protocol for Cooperation in Teacher and Administrator Training Programs” with the Turkish Science Academy (TÜBA), the Scientific and Technological Research Institution of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), Council of Deans of Education Faculties (EFDEK), Turkish Language Institution (TDK) and Turkish History Institution (TTK).
Deputy Minister of National Education Peter Aşkar, Chairman of TÜBA Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, Chairman of TÜBİTAK Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Chairman of EFDEK Prof. Dr. Selahiddin Öğülmüş, Chairman of TDK Prof. Dr. Gürer Gülsevin, Chairman of TTK Prof. Dr. Birol Çetin, Director General for Teacher Training and Improvement Cevdet Vural and Director General for Secondary Education Halil İbrahim Topçu were present at the ceremony organized on the occasion of the signing of the protocol.
Deputy Minister Aşkar said during her speech at the ceremony that the Ministry has set three main goals during the 20th National Education Council namely “Equal Opportunity in Education”, “Improvement of Vocational Education” and “Professional Improvement of Teachers”.
“Only element that will build the future of education is teachers and we have to increase the quality of education in order to increase our competitive power, social and personal welfare. Within this framework, increasing the quality of teachers is among our priorities,” said Aşkar.
Aşkar noted that the Ministry has organized many training programs in an effort to support teachers and administrators to boost their personal and professional improvement adding that they also published a new “In-service Training Regulation” that highlights new approaches in the training programs for teachers.
The ministry has allocated 282 million liras for training programs this year.

Aşkar stated that the Ministry has signed cooperation protocols with TÜBİTAK, EFDEK, TÜBA, TDK and TTK and this protocol supports the Ministry in its goal to increase the quality of teachers. The protocol foresees preparation of in-service training programs, production of visual, printed and digital training materials, expert, book and periodical support, organization of projects, awards and training programs.
