President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call to discuss bilateral relations, as well as regional and global issues, according to a statement from Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.
Focus on expanding bilateral cooperation
During the conversation, President Erdogan emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between Türkiye and Russia in various sectors, particularly in increasing the trade volume.
Both leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening economic and diplomatic ties.

Kremlin released a statement about the phone call and said, “Following the talk in Kazan on October 23, the presidents extensively discussed topical bilateral issues, focusing on increasing the effectiveness of trade and economic cooperation. Contacts between competent agencies will be held further accordingly.”
“President Putin and President Erdogan also covered some international issues,” the statement concluded.
Efforts to de-escalate regional tensions
Erdogan highlighted Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and contribute to peace processes.
He reiterated Türkiye‘s role in promoting stability and ensuring the resolution of conflicts through dialogue and collaboration.
