911 call takers and dispatchers in York County work 12-hour shifts to help those in distress and are responsible for sending the appropriate response from fire, EMS and police.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday night at a Turkey Hill store in Red Lion, according to a news release.
A male in his late teens or early 20s, who was brandishing a weapon, approached both cashiers and demanded money, the release states.
The employees gave him a total of $214, and he ran off, heading north toward First Avenue, the release states.
The armed robbery happened around 10:28 p.m. at the store located in the 300 block of West Broadway.
The suspect is described as being 5-feet, 10-inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing black pants, a gray sweatshirt and a medical mask.
State police are asking residents to check their video surveillance systems for any footage of the individual.
