Explosives manufacturer Orica has signed an agreement with KAPEKS to introduce advanced digital technology into Turkey’s mining sector.
Orica’s digital solutions arm signed the agreement with Turkish explosives maker KAPEKS to deployment digital solutions that provide enhanced data-driven insights and optimised decision-making across the entire value chain.
These digital solutions run the gamut from providing orebody intelligence, to improved blast design and execution, geosolutions, and even mine simulation technology.
Orica Digital Solutions Senior Vice President Rajkumar Mathiravedu said the technology will help connect the digital world with real world actions and provide greater operational insights.
“This allows for the translation of those insights into critical intelligence for better decisions and more predictable outcomes in near real-time and we are genuinely excited to bring these cutting-edge solutions to Turkey,” Mathiravedu said.

Orica Chief Technology Officer Angus Melbourne said the company has accelerated the development of its digital solutions from exploration to processing to address critical and emerging challenges.
The Australian manufacturer said that these digital platforms can assist mining companies in improving safety, reducing energy and water usage, minimising emissions, and comply with regulatory requirements.
