Netherlands Vs Turkey Betting Tips: The Panel's Best Bets & Euro 2024 Predictions

Netherlands Vs Turkey Betting Tips:

Turkey and Netherlands will meet in Berlin in the fourth and final quarter-final on Saturday night.

Both teams will fancy their chances after coming through their round of 16 ties in contrasting fashion.

The Dutch were comfortable 3-0 winners over Romania, with Donyell Malen becoming the first player to score twice in a game at Euro 2024.

Turkey needed a superb save by Mert Gunok in the final seconds to deny Christoph Baumgartner an equaliser, after Merih Demiral had scored both Turkey’s goals.

This will be the last game at Berlin’s Olympiastadion before it hosts the final on July 14, but will either of these two sides make a return?

The UK betting sites give Netherlands a better chance of winning Euro 2024 than their quarter-final opponents.

The Dutch are 15/2 to win their second Euro title, 36 years after winning Euro 1988 in Germany. Turkey, who are the lowest ranked nation remaining, are 40/1 to win an historic first title.

Gambling.com’s experts on The Panel have checked out the latest odds on the match and picked out three Netherlands vs Turkey predictions.

The Netherlands Vs Turkey Prediction: Both Teams To Go For It

The Dutch eased through after their impressive display against the Romanians, with Cody Gakpo scoring and Donyell Malen adding a late brace.

What’s more, they also registered 23 attempts on goal, suggesting that after a slow start, they are now a formidable force in the weaker side of the draw.

Turkey triumphed in an exciting last-16 clash against Austria, with defender Demiral scoring both goals in a 2-1 win, though Vincenzo Montella’s side also gave up 21 attempts to their opponents.

These two certainly have history and in the two World Cup 2022 qualifiers we were treated to high-scoring affairs; Turkey winning 4-2 in Istanbul and Netherlands securing a 6-1 victory in Amsterdam.

Turkey are currently averaging 1.75 goals a game at Euro 2024 and the Dutch have found the net two or more times in seven of their last nine fixtures. Only Spain (10) and Germany (9) have outscored these teams in this tournament with seven apiece.

So history and statistics suggest that Saturday’s match in Berlin could see plenty of goalmouth action with The Panel predicting both teams to score and at least three goals on the night.

The Netherlands Vs Turkey Prediction: Turks Hard To Beat

Turkey are appearing in the quarter-finals of a major competition for the first time in 16 years, but it’s clear they are not here just to make up the numbers.

Cheered on by their fanatical supporters, the Turks have won three of their four matches at Euro 2024, their only blip a 3-0 defeat by Portugal.

Both of Turkey’s goals against Austria came from corners, the first after just 57 seconds, and the Dutch will have to be strong at set-pieces to deal with the aerial power of Demiral.

Montella’s men were magnificent at the back, dealing with almost everything that was thrown at them by an Austrian team that looked uncomfortable and unimaginative in attack.

The Dutch will almost certainly have to find a better way than sending high crosses into the box to break down this tough, well-drilled defence and even then they will have to get past keeper Gunok, whose Gordon Banks-like save to deny Baumgartner’s downward header in the closing stages is unlikely to be bettered at the tournament.

Montella will be without suspended attacker Orkun Kokcu and defensive midfielder Ismail Yuksek, but on the plus side their playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu and defender Samet Akaydin are both back from bans.

The Dutch are 13/20 favourites with football betting sites to win inside 90 minutes, but aside from their last-16 win against Romania, Ronald Koeman’s team have been mediocre, finishing third in their group behind Austria and France with four points.

The underdogs look well priced at 5/1 with Bet365 to repeat their 2008 heroics in normal time, but they are a side that relies on set-pieces and counter-attacks, so The Panel will err on the side of caution for the next Netherlands vs Turkey prediction.

As we mentioned, the Turks were battered by Netherlands in a World Cup qualifier in 2021, but less than six months earlier a Burak Yilmaz hat-trick inspired a convincing 4-2 victory.

Turkey have lost just one of their last four meetings with the Oranje, all of which were competitive matches, so they look the play to win or draw in the double chance market at 11/8 on new betting sites.

Netherlands Vs Turkey Prediction: Dutch To Attack

For the first 15 minutes of their round of 16 clash against Romania, a 3-0 win for the Dutch did not seem feasible.

Romania gave a good account of themselves before Netherlands opened the scoring in the 20th minute.

From then on, it was a case of damage limitation for Romania, who were on the back foot for the rest of the game.

The Dutch were relentless going forward and only for some solid defending by Romania, the winning margin would have been greater.

Netherlands forced 13 corners in the game, 10 in the first half and it’s possible they will take the same positive approach into their quarter-final with Turkey.

The Turks came under immense pressure from Austria in their round of 16 tie and were grateful for a superb save from Gunok in the final seconds to secure a 2-1 victory.

Turkey conceded 10 corners in that game and they will do well to keep the Dutch to single figure corners on Saturday.

The Panel see the Netherlands taking the game to Turkey and are backing Koeman’s side to win the race to seven corners at 13/10 with Bet365.
