MINISTER TEKİN MEETS WITH HIS ALGERIAN COUNTERPART IN PARIS
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin met with Minister of National Education of Algeria Abdelhakim Belaabed at UNESCO Headquarters before the 42nd Session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Minister Tekin also met separately with Ambassador of Türkiye to Paris Yunus Demirer, and Permanent Delegate of Türkiye to UNESCO Ambassador Gülnur Aybet.
Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin went to Paris to attend the 42nd Session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held in France and make a “National Declaration” on behalf of Türkiye.
Making various contacts as part of the Paris program, Minister Tekin met with Minister of National Education of Algeria Abdelhakim Belaabed at UNESCO Headquarters. Educational relations between the two countries were discussed at the meeting.
Visiting the Embassy of Türkiye in Paris, Minister Tekin met with Ambassador Yunus Demirer. Noting that as the Ministry, their main goals are to carry out education diplomacy activities in line with the foreign policy goals of Türkiye, to benefit from international cooperation at the highest level and to increase the visibility of the efforts and works in the international arena, Minister Tekin stated that they met with Ambassador Yunus Demirer and evaluated all the educational processes of citizens and students living abroad.
Tekin also met with the Permanent Delegate of Türkiye to UNESCO Ambassador Gülnur Aybet. Noting that he made pre-conference evaluations with Aybet, Minister Tekin said that they are aware that education is the fundamental element that adds value to the world, changes the world and ensures international peace.
Minister of National Education Tekin was accompanied by Deputy Minister Celile Eren Ökten and Director General of EU and Foreign Relations Tuba Korkmaz during his contacts.
