MINISTER ÖZER OPENS FIRST TURKISH CULINARY ARTS WORKSHOP ESTABLISHED WITHIN SABANCI TECHNICAL INSTITUTE
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer inaugurated the first Turkish Culinary Arts Workshop established within the Sabancı Technical Institute as part of the Turkish Cuisine Week.
Under the auspices of the Ministry of National Education, Minister Özer accompanied by his wife Nebahat Özer opened the Turkish Culinary Arts Workshop coordinated within the Sabancı Technical Institute affiliated to the Directorate General for Lifelong Learning.
The Director General for Lifelong Learning Hüseyin Burak Fettahoğlu and Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Levent Yazıcı attended the opening ceremony.
Making an assessment on the workshop Minister Özer said that The Turkish Culinary Arts Workshop, where traditional and contemporary Turkish, Ottoman and International cuisine are handled with an inclusive understanding, is significant in terms of being the first. Stating that they aim to raise gastronomy experts who have the equipment and innovation needed by the industry and can synchronize their professional skills with the world, Özer stressed that they also intend to leave heritage flavors to the world as a legacy by training professional chefs who have the qualifications needed by gastronomy and are able to follow academic and current developments, and interpret Turkish and international culinary arts with an interdisciplinary understanding.
