MINISTER ÖZER MET WITH TEACHERS COMING FROM 81 CITIES
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer got together with teachers from 81 cities on the occasion of November 24 Teachers’ Day at the Gölbaşı Guest House.
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer expressed his happiness to get together with teachers coming from different parts of the country on the occasion of November 24 Teachers’ Day.
Noting that teachers made an impact on life and future and they are priceless due to this reason, Özer said that he wanted to express his gratitude and affection to teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
“Students see their teachers as their example in life”
“Our civilization never considered teachers only as the technical element of education, they have always been the main element of education,” said Özer and went on to say:
“The pandemic made us see the vital role of the mission of teachers. They have an important place in the moral development and personal improvement of students, too. Teachers are their guides, their inspiration and most important of all an example in life. You have managed to update your skills quickly during the pandemic process although we were not prepared and fulfilled your duties under hard conditions. You have become a good example for children with your never-ending will and your moral values. You will continue to be the hope of this country and inspiration for your students. And we will be your biggest supporter during this process.”
Teaching Profession Law
Reminding that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave the good news that Teaching Profession Law draft will be completed and submitted to the Parliament for discussion soon, Minister Özer stated:
“For the first time in the education history of Turkey, teachers will have a comprehensive law. The law foresees defining teaching as a career and rights, duties and responsibilities of teachers, expert teachers and head teachers will be defined in details. I wish that 3600 additional indicator and the new law draft will be a blessing for the education community.”
Addressing teachers, Minister Özer said, “I would like to thank you for your efforts, patience, care and sacrifices and I would like to congratulate you on the occasion of this special day.”
Minister Özer thanked all teachers working in different parts of the country and commemorated martyred teachers with respect.
Minister Özer gave presents to the relatives of martyred teachers Yusuf Elitaş, Necmettin Yılmaz and Aybüke Yalçın.
