There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Manchester United are showing an interest in Trabzonspor defender Ali Şahin Yılmaz.

The 20-year-old has yet to make the breakthrough into the Super Lig side’s starting eleven, but has made the step up to the first team squad this season.

Milliyet today report Manchester United are monitoring the situation with Yılmaz and that they sent scouts to get a lowdown on the youngster on Friday. The central defender was involved in Turkey’s U20 clash with England and it’s reported the player impressed the Premier League side. The game finished 1-1.

The Turkish media outlet say a positive report has now been sent back by the scouting team, but there’s obviously no indication at this stage of whether the Red Devils will make a move for the player.

Despite still waiting to make his debut for Trabzonspor, he was included on the bench for their last game, which was against Eyüpspor.

Yılmaz is contracted to the Turkish side until June 2027 after signing a new deal in July.
