Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho tore into the Turkish Super Lig in an incredible tirade following his team’s 3-2 away win at Trabzonspor on Sunday.
Mourinho appeared to be in a good mood in the 102nd minute when Manchester United loanee Sofyan Amrabat scored a dramatic late winner for his side.
Ex-United midfielder Fred had earlier opened the scoring before two penalty kicks from Simon Banza turned the game in the home team’s favour.
But Edin Dzeko equalised in the 75th minute before Amrabat won it at the death, sparking wild celebrations which saw Mourinho attempt a knee-slide, only to fall flat on his face.
However, Mourinho’s joy was long gone by the time he sat down for a post-game press conference in Trabzon.

Mourinho later said that the Turkish Super Lig ‘smells bad’ in an incredible press conference
Mourinho did not hold back as he boldly stated: ‘Nobody abroad wants to watch the Turkish league.
‘Who wants to watch this Turkish league abroad? They have the Premier League, they have the French league, they have the German league, they have the Portuguese league, they have the Dutch league. Why should they see this?
‘It’s too grey. It’s too dark, smells bad. But that’s my job, and I will give everything to my job, to my club.’
Mourinho then hit out at the performance of Sunday’s match officials, specifically Atilla Karaoglan, who worked on the game as the VAR.
After seeing his side concede two penalties, Mourinho was furious when Karaoglan did not intervene to award Fenerbahce a spot-kick in the 82nd minute after the ball struck the arm of Banza inside the 18-yard box.
Fenerbahce manager Mourinho was highly critical of the way Sunday’s game was officiated
Mourinho said: ‘We were in good control, winning 1-0 when Atilla woke up because in the first half he was probably having Turkish tea.
‘Not to say an alcoholic drink so probably was Turkish tea.
‘I don’t think abroad many people watch the Turkish league. I think in London only my son watches the Turkish league, nobody else.
‘I’m going to post on my Instagram. I don’t have many [followers] but I think more than five million will watch more of that penalty. So they will know what the Turkish league is.’
Mourinho did indeed upload footage of Banza’s alleged handball and the video received more than 650,000 likes on Instagram in less than 17 hours.
Alongside multiple replays, Mourinho wrote: ‘Watch and smile. If you like it watch the game because the funny situations don’t stop with this clip.’

Mourinho’s press conference tirade followed another rant during a live television interview.
Speaking just moments after the final whistle on Sunday, Mourinho declared: ‘I blame the Fenerbahce people that brought me here. They told me only half of the truth.
‘They didn’t tell me the whole truth because if they told me the whole truth, I wouldn’t come.
‘But, with half of the truth and my boys, we fight opponents and the system.
‘The man of the match was Atilla Karaoglan. We didn’t see him but he was the referee.
The referee was just a little boy that was there on the pitch, but the referee was Atilla Karaoglan.’
