Germany has announced new border regulations aimed at combating irregular migration but assured that visa applications from Türkiye will not be affected. The German Embassy in Ankara stated that the visa issuance process for Türkiye will continue as usual and remain unaffected by the new measures.
The statement emphasized that traveling between borders remains possible and efforts will be made to avoid wait times, and it was reiterated that “The visa issuance process for Türkiye will continue as usual and will not be affected by this situation.”
In response to escalating security threats, irregular migration, and the rising risks of radicalism, terrorism, and transnational crime, Germany has implemented border closures.
The country recently extended its border controls, initially set up at its borders with Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Poland, to include France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark.
Concerns had arisen about the impact of these controls on Turkish visa applicants. However, the German Embassy clarified that the temporary border controls, which began today, are designed to ensure safe, orderly, and legal entry.
The embassy emphasized that these measures are not expected to disrupt the normal visa processing for Turkish citizens.
The embassy’s statement, issued via its X social media account, confirmed that travel between borders remains possible and that efforts will be made to minimize wait times.
