Fountain Hills Community Services invites the community to its 34th annual Turkey Trot 5K and Fitness Walk sponsored by the Pellegrini Group on Thanksgiving morning.

This valley-wide favorite event brings runners and walkers around the world-famous Fountain at Fountain Park.

Attendees can participate in a 5K timed run (3.1 miles) or a 1.5-mile fitness walk.

Participants are invited to dress up in their favorite Thanksgiving-themed costume to enter the costume contest. Registration includes the traditional long-sleeved t-shirt.

The race starts at 7:15 a.m. on the Avenue of the Fountains, just east of Verde River Drive.

Pre-registration is required to participate in the Fountain Hills Turkey Trot. There will be no onsite registration the day of the event.

The cost is $40 for the 5K ($25 for kids 12 and under) and $25 for the Fitness Walk. Prices go up by $5  Monday, Nov. 18.

Packet pick-up is Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 25-27, at the Community Center, 13001 N. La Montana Drive.

The newly expanded pick-up hours are Monday, 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, 1 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, 3 to 6 p.m.

The Community Center will be closed on race day so runners and walkers are asked to plan accordingly.

For more information and registration, visit fhturkeytrot.com.
