This event will feature a panel from experts and contributors to a project: “A Sea of Opportunities: Can the West Benefit from Türkiye’s Autonomous Foreign Policy in the Black Sea?” led by Atlantic Council Nonresident Senior Fellow Yevgeniya Gaber.
The report launch is taking place under the scope of a project funded by the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP)’s Centre for Applied Turkey Studies (CATS). A Sea of opportunities: Exploring avenues for cooperation between Turkey and the West in the Black Sea, identifies opportunities for the West to engage with Ankara in strengthening regional security and cooperation under the pillars of political dialogue, defense, maritime security, and energy in light of the new security environment that has emerged in the Black Sea region following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
