FORMER Rangers star John Lundstram has been savaged by Turkish legend and former international midfielder Sergen Yalcın for his displays for Trabzonspor.
Lundstram quit Ibrox on a free in the summer after three years at Rangers and moved to Turkey, where he’s played ten league games for his new club – starting five of them.
But Trabzonspor are struggling in 11th place in the Turkish League and have been heavily criticised.
And TV pundit Yalcın – who played for Istanbul’s three main clubs of Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce and played in five major tournaments for Turkey before later going on to manage Besiktas – singled out 30-year-old Lundstram for criticism.
He said: “Trabzonspor has a player John Lundstram. He is a flat midfielder who offers absolutely nothing.
“He’s not alone because they have many players like that.

“He does not provide any contribution to the team, he does not make any difference to the team at all.
“He is not good enough for Trabzonspor.
“This is a team who were supposed to be going for the title. They are full of players who are not good enough to do that.”
The team has come under fire at several points in an underwhelming start to the season.
Lundstram was joined at the club by ex-Ibrox team-mate Borna Barisic, while former boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst moved to the Super Lig with Besiktas.
Rangers captain James Tavernier was also heavily linked with a move to follow his former Ibrox pals earlier this season.
Meanwhile another of Lundstram’s former colleagues, Tom Lawrence, has suffered a further injury disruption to his season.
The midfielder has endured a stop-start season again having been sidelined for massive parts of previous campaigns through injury.
Now the knock suffered by the 30-year-old in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final win over Motherwell is set to keep him out for SIX weeks.
Philippe Clement delivered the bad news ahead of Gers’ Europa League clash with Olympiacos in Athens.
He said: “Tom was injured in the Cup semi-final like you saw.
“So he will be out for several weeks, four to six weeks. He will not be there the next couple of weeks.”
Clement admits Lawrence will be a huge miss but has urged other players to step up and fill the void in midfield.

He continued: “This season he has scored several really important goals but not only that, also in the play, also defensive-wise.
“But it gives chances to other players to prove themselves. It’s like that in football. We play with the team we have and we will keep the players in the same position.”
