Ex-Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi was seen attempting to kick a fan in the head as fan violence once again marred Turkish football.

Fenerbahce’s win at Trabzonspor was overshadowed at full time when a number of spectators ran onto the pitch in very disturbing scenes.

Amid the chaos, Batshuayi, who now plays for Fenerbahce, was seen trying to fly kick a spectator running in his direction.

More shocking scenes saw former QPR and Blackpool player Bright Osayi-Samuel punch a pitch invader in the face and sending the person flying to the turf.

Osayi-Samuel continued his attack on the individual as he threw more punches while the spectator was on the ground.

Fenerbahce won the contest 3-2 with Batshuayi, who was a Chelsea player for six years, scoring the winner on 87 minutes. Former Manchester United midfielder Fred scored their other two goals.

The Fenerbahce players huddled in the middle of the pitch to celebrate but were interrupted when one Trabzonspor supporter made their way onto the grass to goad them.

Stewards chased the individual in response, however, numerous Trabzonspor fans then managed to breach security and head towards the Fenerbahce players in what were ugly scenes.

Batshuayi had his back to an individual heading in his direction with the Belgium international swinging his foot towards the person.

Despite Batshuayi making contact, the individual continued making a beeline for the tunnel at Papara Park in the Turkish city of Trabzon.

Both teams are expected to feel the force of the Turkish football authorities following the unsavoury scenes.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said the incidents were ‘absolutely unacceptable’.

“I have said it before, and I will say it again – without exception, in football, all players have to be safe and secure to play the game which brings such joy to so many people all over the world,” he said.

“I call on the relevant authorities to ensure that this is respected at all levels and for the perpetrators of the shocking events in Trabzon to be held accountable for their actions.”

Turkey’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya wrote on Twitter: “An investigation has been initiated immediately to identify the spectators who entered the pitch and to investigate the incidents that took place at the end of the match.”

Batshuayi, meanwhile, posted a series of heart emojis in the colours of Fenerbahce’s blue and yellow.

It’s an unwanted look for the Turkish FA given that in December league fixtures were suspended when referee Halil Umut Meler was put in hospital following a punch from Ankaragucu club president Faruk Koca.

The result on Sunday sees Fenerbahce stay in touch with leaders Galatasaray with just two points separating the two sides.
