Islamabad: The Turkish Embassy hosted an event here to celebrate Turkiye’s 101st Republic Day.

Besides hosts Turkish Ambassador Dr Irfan Neziroglu and his wife, the event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, planning and development minister Ahsan Iqbal, Jamaat-i-Islami chief Naeemur Rehman, PML-N MNA Shaista Pervaiz, and other notables as well.

At the start of the function, national anthems of both countries were played.

A video message from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was screened, reaffirming the country’s commitment to fighting terrorism and becoming a strong and developed nation.

Deputy PM Ishaq Dar congratulated the Turkish people on their national day, expressed condolences for a recent terrorist incident in their country, and commended the Turkish leadership’s resolve to confront such challenges.

He hoped that the journey to a strong and developed Turkiye continued.

Turkish Ambassador Dr Irfan Neziroglu thanked Pakistan for its solidarity to his country during recent difficulties. He highlighted the deep connection between the two nations and said Turkiye and Pakistan were two souls of one mold, showing the commonalities that united both countries. The envoy celebrated Turkiye-Pakistan friendship and the strength of their brotherhood. Also, a large cake was cut to mark Turkiye’s 101st Republic Day.
