A new study has revealed the cheapest destinations in Turkey to fly to this winter, based on the average flight prices to each city. 

The research, conducted by travel experts Istanbul Tickets and Tours, analysed different average flight prices to Turkish destinations from any London airport to determine which is the cheapest destination to fly to this winter. The departure dates considered were between 1st November to 27th December. 

The cheapest city to fly to in Turkey is Istanbul, with average flight prices of £55.27. Istanbul is home to one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world, the Grand Bazaar, which features over 4,000 shops and attracts millions of visitors each year. It also boasts a vibrant culinary scene and diverse neighbourhoods. The cheapest week to fly here this year is 29th November, with flights costing £52. 

Second is Adapazarı, with average flight prices of £55.63. The city is situated near the Sakarya River and is surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the Sakarya Province, including breathtaking mountains and forests. Adapazarı is also an important economic centre, especially known for its agricultural production. Flights cost as little as £52 if you choose to fly on 29th November. 

Edirne, Gebze, and Gölcük are tied for third place, with average flight prices of £55.67. All three of the destinations are rich in historical landmarks and cultural diversity. The cheapest week to fly here this year is 29th November, with flight costs as low as £52. 

In fourth place is Çorum, with average flight prices of £103.90. This city in central Turkey has a rich history dating back to ancient times and is home to various historical sites. Çorum also has a rich cultural heritage with many traditional festivals, music, and dance reflecting the diverse influences of its history. Flight costs are as low as £98.90, if you choose to fly on 29th November. 

Samsun is in fifth place, with average flight prices of £105.23. The city is famously known as the place where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk arrived on May 19, 1919, marking the beginning of the Turkish War of Independence. This date is now celebrated as Atatürk Memorial, Youth and Sports Day in Turkey. Samsun also offers a range of delicious local dishes and seafood dishes due to its coastal location. The cheapest week to fly here this year is 29th November, with flights costing £98.90. 

The sixth cheapest destination is Ankara, with average flight prices of £105.26. The capital city was chosen for its strategic location in the centre of the country, making it a political and administrative hub. Ankara is home to numerous cultural institutions, including the State Opera and Ballet, the Ankara Art Theatre, and various museums. If you choose to fly on 29th November, travellers can purchase tickets for as little as £97.99. 

Izmir is in seventh place, with average flight prices of £110.26. Izmir is a beautiful coastal city in western Turkey and has been inhabited by various civilizations, including the Greeks, Romans, and Ottomans. The Kordon, a scenic waterfront promenade, is a popular place for walking, cycling, and enjoying views of the sea. The city also has numerous parks and green spaces for relaxation. The cheapest week to fly here this year is 29th November, with flights costing £99.90. 

In eighth place is Konya, with average flight prices of £112.90. Konya is one of the oldest cities in Turkey and boasts beautiful Seljuk architecture, with notable landmarks such as the Alaeddin Mosque, the Ince Minare Museum, and the Karatay Medrese, a former theological school. Flights cost as little as £96.90 if you choose to fly on 29th November. 

Aydin is the ninth cheapest, with average flight prices of £112.98. Aydin is a city in western Turkey that is particularly famous for its fig production. It is one of the largest producers of figs in Turkey, as well as olives and citrus fruits. Aydin’s vibrant markets are a great place to experience local culture, where visitors can find fresh produce, traditional crafts, and regional delicacies. The cheapest week to fly here this year is 8th November, with flights costing £94.99. 

Lastly, Kirikkale is in tenth place, with average flight prices of £114.23. The area surrounding this central city features picturesque landscapes, including the nearby Delice River, providing opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and picnicking. Flights cost as little as £113.90 if you choose to fly on 29th November or 6th December.
