It’s the end of an era for one Houston Rockets player. Boban Marjanovich, who played his last two seasons in H-town as both a fan and locker room favorite, has signed a deal to play in Turkey with Fenerbahçe, located in Istanbul.

Boban finished his Rockets career averaging 3.3 points and 2 rebounds per game over 45 games through two seasons, though it wasn’t his play on the court he is known for. He was a solid veteran presence in the locker room, helping to ease the pro transition for players like Tari Eason.

Boban also earned some good press earlier this year by winning free chicken for opposing fans in Los Angeles.

Boban will certainly be missed on the roster and by those attending and watching games, but the Rockets already are facing a major roster crunch with too many young pieces who need time on the court. There was virtually no chance for Boban to receive any playing time under these roster conditions, so it’s good to see him move on.

In addition, playing in Europe is probably a little bit better fit for the level of play Boban currently stands at, and he might see a little extra time than what he would have seen in the States, so congrats to Boban for still living the dream.

We’ll miss you, Boban. Free chicken forever.
