August sees sharp 29.38% YoY rise in Turkiye’s clothing & footwear CPI

Turkiye’s consumer price index (CPI) for clothing and footwear rose by 29.38 per cent year on year (YoY) and by 0.35 per cent month on month (MoM) in August this year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat).

The country’s general CPI increased by 2.47 per cent MoM and by 51.97 per cent YoY in the month. It rose by 31.94 per cent over the figure in December 2023 and by 64.91 per cent on a twelve-months moving averages basis in the month.

CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold rose by 2.88 per cent MoM and by 50.87 per cent YoY in August this year. It rose by 32.19 per cent over the figure in December 2023 and by 66.79 per cent on a twelve-months moving averages basis.
