During the meeting with the President of the Russian Federation, Prime Minister Pashinyan presented the details of the “Peace Crossroads” initiative and handed over the brochure for the “Peace Crossroads” to the President, Armenian government spokeswoman Nazeli Baghdasaryan said in a statement on Facebook.

“He also expressed concerns regarding the terminology and vocabulary used by several Russian officials concerning regional issues. The discourse of the Government of the Republic of Armenia on regional communications is consistent in both closed and open formats.

Prime Minister Pashinyan assessed the outcomes of the meeting with the President of the Russian Federation positively. A broad range of issues was discussed, leading to specific agreements related to the energy, education, and humanitarian sectors”, Baghdasaryan noticed.

The spokesperson added that the leaders agreed that starting from January 1, 2025, the Armenian National Security Service Border Troops will also participate in the protection of the Armenia-Iran and Armenia-Turkey state borders. Furthermore, the service at the control-border checkpoint of the Armenia-Iran state border will be fully carried out by the Border Troops of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia.

“Prime Minister Pashinyan expressed gratitude to President Putin for the service rendered by the Border Troops of the Federal Security Service of Russia at the control-border checkpoint between the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran since the independence of the Republic of Armenia”, Baghdasaryan concluded.
