Arda Güler scored the winner in Turkey’s dramatic 4-2 win over Iceland in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday.
Güler played 89 minutes and capped a good display with the winning goal in the 88th minute as Turkey stay top of their group with 10 points from four games.
Güler had a good performance overall, taking a game high six shots, one of them being the winning goal from close range after a fumble by Iceland’s defense.
The Real Madrid man also completed two dribbles, had 70 touches, was fouled once. In terms of distribution, Guler attempted 46 passes with 91.3% passing accuracy. He also had three accurate long balls out of three and was at the heart of everything Turkey did going forward, alongside Kenan Yildiz.
Defensively, he did not have to do too much because he was involved very much in the attack, but he did have a blocked shot, and was tracking well.
Güler has managed to end the international break without having any physical issues, which is a relief for Real Madrid.
