Real Madrid’s Arda Güler played 86 minutes in Turkey’s 0-0 draw with Wales in their UEFA Nations League match on Saturday.
Güler was at the centre of everything Turkey tried to do in their unsuccessful attempts to score a winning goal. They were the better team all game but they just weren’t able to get the finishing touches.
Güler himself had a really good chance to score in the second half, where he found himself in the box, only to sky the shot.
Güler was arguably Turkey’s best player on the night with three key passes completed, three dribbles completed, six duels won, one tackle, and one clearance.
Güler was at the heart of everything, and he kept getting on the ball, which is always a good thing. He finished the game with 76 touches — second most on the night — as he played mostly as a wide midfielder.
This leaves Turkey at the top of their group, and they face Montenegro on Tuesday.
