The 5th Annual Anytime Fitness Fairview Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day did not disappoint local residents looking to burn off a few calories before their big Thanksgiving meal.
“Our Turkey Trot was a huge success with almost 100 participants this year! The most we have had yet,” shared Karen Childress, owner of Anytime Fitness.
Energized Fairviewians got up early Thanksgiving Day and accepted the challenge to run a full 5K or enjoy the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk option.
Participants, who shared the experience with family and friends, said the run was a lot of fun and may be an annual tradition. A few creative souls also dressed for the special event wearing colorful attire including a few fun turkey costumes.
Organizers reported lots of enthusiastic runners braved the cooler temperatures to enjoy their first Fairview Turkey Trot experience with many saying it won’t be their last.
Winners of the 2024 Anytime Fitness Fairview Turkey Trot were Ryan Pett, 5K men; Jessie Klamer, 5K women; and Jack Riley, 1 mile Walk/Run.
