Antalya, Türkiye’s premier holiday destination, has welcomed 112.7 million international visitors from 2015 to November 2024.
According to Recep Yavuz of the Antalya City Council, Antalya’s visitor count from 2015 to November 2024 includes 107.2 million international tourists and 5.5 million Turkish citizens living abroad.
Russians and Germans were the top nationalities, making up half of the foreign visitors. Over the past decade, over 36 million Russians and 25.6 million Germans visited the Mediterranean city, Yavuz reported.
Additionally, the city attracted 7.2 million tourists from the U.K. and 5.97 million from Ukraine during this period.
In 2024 alone, Yavuz expects the number of foreign visitors to reach 17 million.
However, Yavuz cautioned that potential economic and political shifts in Germany and Russia, two of the main source countries, could impact Antalya’s tourism in 2025.
Yavuz mentioned that the average spending per tourist is currently between $800 and $900, with plans to raise this amount to $1,000.
