African nations have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing relations and cooperation with Türkiye during the Third Ministerial Review Conference of the Türkiye-Africa Partnership, held in Djibouti.

The conference, attended by Turkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his African counterparts over the weekend, focused on strengthening ties and addressing the recent Israeli aggression in Palestine.

Mauritanian Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug highlighted the necessity of continued strengthening of cooperation, coordination, and solidarity among nations to overcome shared challenges. He pointed out that this collaboration is particularly vital in light of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people.

Ould Merzoug expressed gratitude to Minister Fidan for his efforts in fostering the Türkiye-Africa partnership, which he described as an important avenue for progress.

Meanwhile, Moussa Faki Mahamat, chairperson of the African Union Commission, acknowledged significant achievements in areas such as infrastructure, social issues, education, healthcare, and security stemming from the Türkiye-Africa partnership.

He noted that the principles of the United Nations, international law, and human rights are currently under threat, citing the situation in Gaza as a prominent example.

“We live in an unjust world today, where a significant part of the world, particularly Africa, is overlooked in international relations,” Mahamat stated. “This is profoundly unfair. We urgently need to put an end to this global injustice.”
