Parfois, a Portugal-based leader in women’s accessories, is set to establish a purchasing office in Türkiye next year, aiming to increase its sourcing from the country by 30% within the next decade.
Considering the brand’s plan to triple its global procurement from €500 million ($519.69 million) to €1.5 billion, its purchases from Türkiye are expected to soar from €5 million to €450 million.
Serhan Tinastepe, chairman of Parfois Türkiye, indicated that the brand currently sources only 1% of its annual €500 million procurement from Türkiye.
“We plan to increase this figure to €1.5 billion in the next 10 years, with Türkiye becoming a significant supply hub in this context,” Tinastepe stated. “A purchasing office will be established next year, and Türkiye’s share in the brand’s sourcing is expected to rise to 30% over the decade,” he added, according to a report by the economy-focused ekonomim.com on Monday.
Tinastepe emphasized the brand’s confidence in the Turkish market, which has led to accelerated store openings. “We have reached six stores in one year. With high occupancy rates in shopping malls, we could easily open 30 stores in a short time if more space were available,” Tinastepe noted.
Highlighting Türkiye’s strategic advantages, Tinastepe cited its logistical benefits and dynamic, flexible production capacity. “During the pandemic, we witnessed difficulties in sourcing from the Far East. These factors make Türkiye an attractive option for the brand, which also trusts in Türkiye’s future,” he explained.
Founded in 1994, Parfois operates over 1,000 stores across nearly 80 countries, solidifying its position as one of the world’s leading women’s accessory brands. Parfois, which opens around 100 new stores annually, expanded into nearly 10 new countries last year, including Türkiye.
