Advancing Türkiye’s National Technology Initiative
Minister Kacır emphasized TÜMOSAN’s foundational role in Türkiye’s industrial progress, recalling its establishment under the guidance of the late Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan. He highlighted its continued contributions under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan:
“TÜMOSAN has been a cornerstone of Türkiye’s industrial legacy, and its ongoing work plays a critical role in advancing the National Technology Initiative. This institution exemplifies our nation’s potential for innovation and self-reliance,” said Kacır.
Pioneering Domestic Innovation with Euro 5 Tractors
During his visit, Kacır explored TÜMOSAN’s advancements in engine production, particularly for the defense and agriculture sectors. He noted with pride, “Türkiye’s first Euro 5-compliant domestic tractor engines were developed here at TÜMOSAN, with over 90% localization. Completing the production process for these engines is a remarkable achievement for our country.”
The minister also received updates on ongoing R&D projects aimed at enhancing TÜMOSAN’s offerings, expressing optimism about the completion of future innovations.
Supporting Defense Independence
TÜMOSAN’s contributions to defense technology were another focus of Kacır’s remarks. He observed, “The motors produced here are used in our 6×6 armored vehicles and are being developed for our unmanned maritime vehicles. All these efforts are carried out with fully domestic and national resources, and testing is successfully conducted within this facility. TÜMOSAN is a critical force behind Türkiye’s defense capabilities.”
Kacır reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating foreign dependency in defense:
“In the coming years, we aim to accelerate localization in all subsystems of our defense industry. Achieving independence in air, land, and sea propulsion and power systems is a cornerstone of our National Technology Initiative,” he affirmed.
Strengthening National Technology
Concluding his visit, Kacır expressed gratitude to TÜMOSAN’s leadership and employees for their dedication to advancing domestic innovation:
“TÜMOSAN is not just an industrial powerhouse; it’s a symbol of Türkiye’s determination to innovate, lead, and achieve self-reliance in critical sectors. We look forward to the continued success of this institution in shaping a more independent and prosperous future for our nation,” he said.
