Türkiye set to host Formula 1 races at Istanbul Park in coming years, says Turkish minister – Türkiye Today

An official statements about the ongoing efforts to bring Formula 1 (F1) organization to Türkiye excited many Turkish F1 fans.

Türkiye’s Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy responded to questions from parliament members during the 2025 budget discussions at the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s Planning and Budget Committee.

Minister Ersoy revealed that efforts are ongoing to reintegrate the Istanbul Racing Circuit into the Formula 1 calendar.

When the minister was asked about Turkiye’s ongoing negatiations with Formula 1 organization, he explained: “Don’t we all want Formula 1 to return to Istanbul? We are not the only ones vying for it—many cities worldwide are competing to secure Formula 1. Negotiations with the Formula 1 organization are ongoing in collaboration with the company running the track, and we hope to successfully conclude this process and bring Formula 1 back to Istanbul.”

Turkiye hosted its first-ever F1 race in 2005.
