Greek and Turkish officials are scheduled to meet again in December to continue discussions aimed at resolving their long-standing maritime disputes, following a key meeting last week between Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis and Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.
The talks, held in Athens, focused on establishing a framework for future negotiations, with both sides agreeing to continue the dialogue despite differences over maritime boundaries.
The two ministers also agreed to establish a new diplomatic channel between their foreign ministries to prevent tensions from escalating into crises.
The next opportunities for bilateral talks are expected at upcoming meetings, including the December sessions of the OSCE and NATO. Additionally, the next Supreme Cooperation Council will take place in 2025 in Ankara, probably, according to some sources, in February or March, under the two leaders Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
