Meteorology experts in Türkiye released the latest forecast, signaling that most regions will experience mild and dry fall weather.
Across the country, temperatures are expected to stay close to seasonal averages, with little chance of rain over the coming week. The northern areas will see some clouds, while other regions anticipate mostly clear skies.
However, early morning fog and mist are likely in areas like Marmara, inland Aegean and Mediterranean regions.
Clear skies, mild fall weather expected across Türkiye’s regions
- Marmara region weather remains mild: The Marmara area is expected to experience partly cloudy skies, with morning fog, especially in cities like Istanbul and Kocaeli. Istanbul’s daytime highs are around 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius), while Edirne could reach up to 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Aegean and Mediterranean regions forecast dry days: Both regions anticipate clear skies throughout the week. Interior areas, including Afyonkarahisar and Denizli, may see early morning mist, with temperatures ranging from 66 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit. The coastal city of Izmir will enjoy dry conditions, with temperatures peaking at 75 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Central and Eastern Anatolia prepare for crisp nights: Central Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia regions can expect clear skies, with higher-altitude cities like Yozgat and Erzurum experiencing morning fog. Low temperatures will range down to 41 degrees Fahrenheit in Erzurum, while daytime temperatures stay near 64 degrees Fahrenheit.
Istanbul’s winter forecast suggests minimal snow for 2024
Meteorology specialist Orhan Sen shared that Istanbul is unlikely to see heavy snowfall this winter, cautioning residents not to expect the intense winter scenes of past decades.
“If we see even a single day of snow in Istanbul, that would be a fortunate sight,” he remarked, explaining that while evenings are expected to cool noticeably, overall winter conditions remain moderate. Sen advised Istanbul residents to dress warmly for the evening hours, stating, “After 5 p.m., you won’t want to step out without a coat.”
Over the next five to six days, forecasts show Istanbul will experience stable, rain-free weather with temperatures dropping significantly at night, which will likely bring fog that may limit road visibility. However, as of now, no significant weather shifts or rain are anticipated for Türkiye in the immediate forecast.
