Putin said this at the BRICS summit, Russia’s RIA Novosti reports.

The Russian leader said that a Turkish representative at the September session of the UN General Assembly in New York ‘received a proposal for Russia from Ukraine’.

‘The high representative called us directly from New York,’  Putin said.  He did not disclose the details of the proposal.

‘Turkey has also taken the initiative on the situation in the Black Sea: to ensure safe navigation, to conclude certain agreements and arrangements on the safety of nuclear energy facilities,’ the Kremlin leader said.

According to him, the Turkish side also referred to Ukraine in its proposal.

Ukraine’s reaction

Presidential communications advisor Dmytro Lytvyn said in a commentary to Interfax-Ukraine on October 25 that Ukraine was willing to discuss only the Peace Formula.

‘We have a peace formula. It is in the UN Charter. And he (Putin – ed.) has a desire to wage war, and he is the culprit of aggression. Therefore, he constantly needs to look for excuses why he has not agreed to the Peace Formula for two years,’ Lytvyn said.

On Thursday, October 24, Russian leader Vladimir Putin, speaking at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, said that Ukraine had attacked the Kursk region to influence the US elections.
