All-rounder Venkatesh Iyer impressed fans by striking the iconic pose of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan at a scenic location in Cappadocia, Turkey. Iyer is making the most of his time away from cricket, taking advantage of the break to explore new destinations.

On Thursday, July 18, Venkatesh posted a video on his official Instagram account, copying Shah Rukh Khan’s signature open-armed pose. The accompanying caption read,

“Never too late for this trend … @iamsrk.”

Iyer plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a franchise co-owned by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. The 29-year-old made his IPL debut with the Kolkata-based team in 2021 and has since played three seasons for them.

In Qualifier 1 of the 17th season, the Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets, advancing to the IPL final. KKR then secured a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over SRH in the championship match, clinching their third IPL title.

Following KKR’s Qualifier 1 victory, Venkatesh Iyer praised Khan, as an elder brother figure to the Kolkata players. Iyer revealed that Khan had delivered an inspirational pep talk to motivate the team before the crucial match.

“His presence is truly remarkable. Not only has he captivated audiences on the big screen with his charismatic persona, but he also serves as an invaluable mentor, guiding the team like an elder brother. His motivational talks have lifted the spirits of players like Nitish Rana, who face the challenging task of performing while recovering from injury. His exceptional leadership has made him a great asset, one that commands the utmost respect,” he stated.

Venkatesh was a standout performer during their title-winning campaign earlier this year. He amassed 370 runs in 13 innings, averaging 46.25 with a blistering strike rate of 158.79.
