Steve Hanke, an economics professor at Johns Hopkins University, shared an update on social media regarding Türkiye‘s annual inflation rate, stating it to be 26.6%. In his post, he remarked, “Türkiye is starting to resurface.”

Hanke’s commentary on Türkiye’s inflation continues as he contrasts his findings with TurkStat data, which reported an annual inflation rate of 49.38% in October. Previously, Hanke had announced his own calculation of 27% for the annual inflation rate.

In his latest update, he again noted the annual inflation rate at 26.6%, accompanied by a visual representation.

In his message, tagged with “Watch Türkiye,” Hanke indicated that inflation is decreasing in the country, stating, “Türkiye is starting to resurface.”

Earlier in October, TurkStat announced the annual inflation rate at 49.38%. Just one day later, Hanke used his methodology to calculate the inflation rate at 27%.
