A Turkish man with an incredible knack for basketball trick shots has just landed his third Guinness World Records title.
Osman Gürcü (Türkiye) made himself a triple threat when he sunk the farthest blindfolded basketball hook shot from a distance of 20 m (65 ft 7 in) on 20 April.
He beat the previous record of 18.28 m (60 ft).
The 43-year-old basketball fanatic also holds records for the farthest behind-the-backboard basketball shot with a total of 11 m (36 ft 1.07 in) and the farthest basketball bounce shot from a distance of 30 m (98 ft 5 in).
Osman has been playing basketball since he was a child and is now part of an over-40s team.
As he explained his record-breaking technique to us, he confessed: “Since I was young I’ve been interested in trick shots like the longest distance shot, it was my dream to break a world record like this.”
And when it finally happened for him, he was thrilled.
“I was very happy when I got the email from the Guinness World Records team saying I was Officially Amazing,” he said.
“I am very proud to be a record breaker and I have plans to break more.”
