MUNICH (Germany) – The date and location for SuperCup Women 2024 have been announced, with Istanbul set to host the clash of Turkish giants in a key event to start the club season.
The annual curtain-raiser, featuring back-to-back EuroLeague Women champions Fenerbahce and EuroCup Women runners-up Besiktas JK, will take place on Wednesday, October 2.
The game will be played at the TBF Basketball Development Center, with tip-off scheduled at 18:00 CET.
Fenerbahce became the first Turkish club to lift the SuperCup Women trophy in 2023
Having lifted the SuperCup trophy last year as part of their magical 2023-24 campaign, Fenerbahce became the first Turkish club to win the competition and will look to defend their title against cross-town rivals in Besiktas.
Besiktas came close to securing their maiden European trophy in women’s basketball last year, ultimately coming up short against London Lions in the EuroCup Women Final.
The game between the two Istanbul clubs will mark the 13th edition of the competition, with eight clubs from six different countries crowned winners since its inception in 2009.
